Peppermint is one of those oils that is good for so many things. It’s invigorating, uplifting, and refreshing. Did you know that just 1 drop of peppermint essential oil is equivalent to 28 cups of peppermint tea? Yep…essential oils are potent and very effective!
Use peppermint to help support a healthy digestive system by taking 1-2 drops in a veggie capsule and taking internally. You can also rub peppermint essential oil directly on the affected area. I like to rub right over my stomach area and up and down my esophagus to help with heartburn and indigestion. Rubbing over my intestinal area helps reduce gas and bloating.
Peppermint essential oil can also be used to assist in respiratory support. Simply inhale from the bottle or take 1-2 drops in the palm of your hand and breathe in to open airways for more effective breathing.
Are you aware that peppermint actually increases circulation which means that it can give you instant energy? I like to put peppermint in my diffuser first thing in the morning to help wake me up and get me focused for the day.
Another way I have to often use peppermint essential oil is to help reduce fevers. I have three young girls and a husband that works in an emergency room, so we are bound to get sick sometimes. When that fever spikes, I love combining peppermint with lime essential oil to reduce a fever quickly.
